My brother Guy (1970 grad) informed me about this website, so here goes. It had taken me 9 years, but I finally found a college that allowed me to graduate. So, in 1981 I moved to the Newport, Rhode Island area and pretty much partied hard for another 9 years. I was lucky enough to find Diane who pretty much knocked me off my feet(still does) in 1989. We were married in 1990 and now have twin boys Derek and Jeremy. They are 8 1/2 years old and play lots of hockey.(I have the honor of coaching them also). They are my best friends. We reside in Tyngsborough, MA. I am a software developer. I get back to Beverly almost every week to see my mother who still resides in Centerville living in the same house I grew up in. I just had a brief battle with Colon cancer. We caught it early and I was 100% cured. Ever since then, my crusade is to tell everyone to get to the doctor if something abnormal occurs. Don't put it off because of the potential embarassment you think it may bring you. I kind of like the fact that I am alive to see my kids grow up. Drop me an email if you get a chance.

3/12/04 - 3 1/2 years later.  Still here. Still lucky to have found Diane(she still knocks me off my feet). She truly is the love of my life.
The boys are 12 and still play hockey. Great kids even though they listen to Hip-Hop. Still visiting my 88 year old mom in Centerville, even though she just boke her hip. No cancer for me. Yes!!!

7/09 Just found out about this website from David LeBlanc through Facebook. It's great to be able to connect with classmates after all these years. There are people on this list I haven't seen since senior week of 1973!

I've lived in the Chicago area for 20 years. Married Barry Mehrman (BHS '72) and have two sons; Dave 28 years, Brian, 25yrs. Since graduating from Springfield College, in 1977, 
we've moved from Maine to Louisiana to Illinois. We've been back for several renunions and even put together a "pizza and beer" get-together when we were back for a visit and not able to make the class of '72 reunion in 2007.  When is our next reunion?

Hi all, I did not get to graduate from BHS, but attended elem. and jr. high. I moved overseas for most of 7th grad, came back to finish that and then started moving all over east coast...navy brat. Came back to Beverly in 74 and ended up married to Ned Walsh. We now live in NH. We have four children and two grandchildren and one on the way. Hi all! I've stayed in Beverly all these years. I've been married 27 years and have 5 kids and 3 grandchildren. We have taken in over 120 foster children over the years. That has been a very busy challenge. My husband works for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and I am a full time mom. My kids are 26, 16, 16, 15 and 14. We like to take camping vacations and hope to see the rest of the country doing this. Two of my kids are currently at BHS and are in marching band and play soccer. I have met several of my former classmates at soccer games and band competitions. I would like to hear from old friends. Hope you are all well.

We recently moved to the Poconos in Pennsylvania after three years in Wisconsin (no Cheesehead jokes please, we remained true blue to the Patriots). Our daughter, Emilie, has adjusted well to the move and does all the things a typical 11 year old does: piano, soccer, basketball, horseback riding and good old-fashioned playing in the neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed the last reunion and look forward to the next.

11/07 - Scanlons have moved again. We're now in sunny Florida (specifically, Eagle Harbor on Fleming Island just south of Jacksonville). Paul is still in the railroad industry; I'm involved in theater production (a passion I picked up in PA); Emily is a freshman at FCCJ with her sights set on Broadway.

Hard to believe I moved to St. Thomas 24 years ago and am still here. I've been teaching Physical Education in the public school system since1976. I met a wonderful man (George) from Long Island (also a teacher) and we just celebrated 20 years of marital bliss here in "America's Paradise" (at least that's what is says on our license plates). It's more like yesterday's living at tomorrow's prices.I've been successfully coaching Varsiy Girls Fastpitch Softball for20 years, the last ten at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School where we took the island championship for 6 years in a row. I also coached volleyball for 15 years, brought the team to Beverly in 1993 but gave that up toconcentrate on swimming - my love. I have been teaching swimming since I got my Water Safety Instructor Certification through the Red Cross in 1972. Since 1978 I have been teaching on Magens Bay Beach (one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world according to National Geographic). I have an after !
schoolprogram during the school year and get to hire my students to come workwith me at the Reformed Church Summer Camp. I have finally become aWater Safety Instructor Trainer and certified my first group of4 of my own high school students last summer. There are more coming upthis year. You'd be surprized at how many people on this tiny island do not know how to swim. Our goal is to change all that. What happens if they fall off ? We are in the middle of no where !In January of 1999 my parents were ready to put up with another groupfrom the islands so I brought a swim team to swim at the Beverly "Y"and watch the Beverly Sharks compete in the Eastern Mass reginals -they came in first place as usual. My kids had never seen a pool like that or attended a swim meet. We swim in the ocean here. What anexperience for them. You may have seen our photo in the Beverly paper.The best way for them to see snow was to go skiing, so we headed toVermont where they took lessons and I got to !
enjoy some skiing that Imiss so much. We all had a great time!
. The Volleyball Hall of Fame andBasketball Hall of Fame greeted us with a warm welcome on the wayback from skiing. We needed a week in the Boston Musuem of Science.Mom & Dad survived or 9 day invasion and we all had a GREAT time. I have no children of my own but enjoy the pleasure of 10 cats in the Tropical Rainforest and grow avacado, banana, mango, papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, soursop, sugar cane, as well as many ornamentalflowers and trees in addition to the regular veggies you would grow there in the summer, except mine grow 12 months a year.I have never been to a reunion and am not sure if I will make thisone , but you never know. Since 1973 I graduated from Salem State, and then focused my time teaching a drum corps from Salem (Arbella), who won the world chanmpionship in their division in 1979, then I started my 'real' jobs. I've been in Information Technology, having worked for several companies along the New England Coast. I am now at LL Bean in Freeport, Maine (Systems Engineering Manager for their server infrastructure - cool stuff). I am also a member of the National Speaker's Association and I enjoy speaking at International conferences. We have lived in Maine (Kennebunkport) since '91 and have 2 kids - 16 and 12. We still have relatives in Beverly, so we visit frequently. I have never been to any reunions, but wish everyone the best.  Feel free to drop me a line.  Take care.

Just found this site today. Wow! We're getting up to 30th reunion already? It's great to read about all you '73 grads and where life's taken you. Me? Well, spent a dozen+ years living in New York City. Worked for Sports Illustrated magazine until the '91 layoffs. Then spent a few more years looking for journalism jobs there. Unfortunately, at the time, there wasn't much. Moved back home to Ober Street in '95 and now work at a graphic design company in Haverhill. Anyone rememebers me (or cares to)drop me a line. :)

Hello all, I live in North Conway NH. I work for the town in the same capacity that I used to work in Beverly City Hall (tax assessor). Pretty challenging work in the Live Free or Die North Country. I'm divorced with two daughters. I spend my days working around the house or flyfishing in season. Hope you are all having a good life.

12/05 - Still here in the north country. Have a big 400 step commute to work. Married to a great local gal named Wendy. We honeymooned in New Orleans in '05 before it got trashed. I am now the proud grandfather of a wild 2 1/2 year old named Caleb.

I am looking forward to coming back to see everyone from class of 73. I moved to San Diego about 12 yrs ago. Sorry I am never coming back there to live. You cant beat San Diego and the weather. We have great beaches and the moutains are 1 1/2 hours away. The desert is about the same. I have the best of all worlds. I can choose when I want snow, and sun. Well I hope everyone will show up to the 30th. Let me know if I can help pass the word around. Well as far as what has gone around for me? Well I have two great daughters, 24 and 19. I was married for 24 yrs, and now divorced for about three yrs. I work for a great company here in San Diego. I am the manager for a computer numeric control machine shop. I have worked in this field for 25 yrs. One of the most current projects my company is working on is the MARS LANDER. Yes my parts are going to Mars, Mid 2003. It takes about 7 months to get there. It's fun to read about everyone from the past. Especially when some of you refer to Cherry Hill, Lynch Park and the Jewish Cemetary.
I had so much fun hanging out at West Beach too.
It's amazing but I feel better now than I did in my younger days. Of course no smokiing and drinking helps. :)
I am a survivor of Leukemia and a Bone Marrow Transplant. This life changing event happened in 1987 when my son was 4 yrs old.

Hi! It's almost time for our ten year reunion...only I guess that we had a seven year reunion already.(???) I am currently in my third year of law enforcement, working as a MA State Trooper in the central MA area. It was great to have found this site; hope more classmates find it too.  Have lived in Vermont twice, Connecticut once, now in NY where we built a house and raised 2 wonderful boys, now 20 (in college in Buffalo) & 18.  Philip and Steven.  We are now divorced and I work full time at a Cancer Treatment Center outside Albany.   Spend lots of time being active, hiking, xc, downhill (taught that for years), snowshoeing, biking, blading, fishing, working out.  Still have my long hair.   Still seriously enjoying life and my boys.  I hope they will have a reunion because the 10th was lots of fun at the Danversport Yacht Club.  Hope they have it in the summer again.  Looking forward to seeing many familiar faces ... in a more peaceful world.

06/08: Have a beautiful home of my own on a small lake just across the Hudson River from Albany (in East Greenbush).  With the gorgeous lakeview, it is uplifting to see and hear the geese, ducks and frogs (also cormorants, blue heron and turtles) from my 3 season room.  To watch the waves is very relaxing. Got me a kayak to go on the lake - the minute I bought my house (no noisy power boats allowed!).  One son Philip, went to college and is now a musician in Boston after attending Berklee; my other son Steven is in the urban planning program at SUNY Albany.  He also did the Carpenter's Union for 18 mos.,and was selected for Americorps but turned it down.  I have met a wonderful man who works for the State and will be retiring any minute.  He will be moving in with me this summer - after dating for 2 1/2 years.  I have been back to Beverly, where my sister still lives, and it looks great to me still!  Life is good ....

2009-10 Update: Moved from Beverly area to Martha's Vineyard in 1997, then to VA in 2003. The nomadic bug bit again in '08 when a job offer to write maritime content brought me to Vero Beach, FL. 
My GTO books are still selling on Amazon and I have almost 3 loyal readers as I write this! But I'm also writing b-movies in the fight genre for Aussie film companies... mates. My muscle car script "Woodward Avenue," won a "best drama" nomination at 2009 Action on Film Festival. We're now filming the trailer for my script, "The Violent" with world welterweight MMA boxer John Wayne Parr. It also stars Lance Henriksen (The Right Stuff, Appaloosa) and martial arts dude, Richard Norton (Walker: Texas Ranger). It's a lot of fun at least. Please email me. 11/08 - Still loving living in Beverly, married with two children now in college, both at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.  Keeping busy with lots of volunteer work, hobbies and my two dogs.  It's always fun to run into classmates around town and would love to hear from those living out of the area.

1/10/02 Hello! Stumbled on THIS website while looking at the current BHS website for school info for my two sons who are attending, you guessed it, BHS. It gets weird when they have some of the same teachers. I was happy to read info about so many people on the website. I am living locally and except for one year, when I was first married (1981) and lived in Salem, I have always lived here! I'm not sure I could ever live away from the ocean! I am currently separated and have two sons, 17 (graduating this year)and 14 (freshman) that are very involved with the music program at BHS. Who knew? Looking at colleges now (does that seem possible?)and trying not to feel old. After BHS I graduated from NSCC in Radiologic Technology and went on to get my degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology from BHCC. I have worked at Beverly Hospital and am now at the Hunt Center in Danvers. Have been toying with a midlife career change and attending college part-time to that end. Have recently acquir! ed the traveling bug, and have visted Ireland twice, in spite of the state of the world. How are you all dealing with the aftermath of 9-11? Did you ever think we would have to explain that to ourselves and to our children? Still see quite a few BHS grads whose children are in Beverly Schools. Hoping we will have a well attended 30th reunion. Will we have one? Would love to hear from past grads.

8/08 Time for an update: Have managed to graduate one son from UMass Lowell,(and he has a job!) the other will be a senior at UNH and hopefully will make it across the podium. Have been working at Mass General in Boston for 6 years in Nuclear Medicine. Still in Beverly......

I just found this site by accident and it has been fun reading about what everyone has been up to in the last 30 years. I became a Travel Agent in 1975 after college. I worked for one agency for 5 years then went to Caboose Travel in Beverly Farms in 1981. And then started managing a branch in S. Hamilton. I became one of the owners in 1985 and we opened several more branches in Beverly, Gloucester, and Ipswich. I got married young in 1977 to Paul Stump from Topsfield. We are still married (25 years this year 2002!) We travelled a lot and finally had 2 boys - Jonathan 7 and Timothy 5. I tried to work part time after Jonathan but when I was pregnant at 41 with my second I decided it was time to be a full time Mom. And as any the other mothers know, I think this is harder than going to work. But our kids are terrific. My husband graduated from NorthEastern in Mechanical engineering and worked in the semi conductor business for 17 years at Eaton and Genius. He then got t!he opportunity to run a small company in Hollis NH and became the president of Telequip Corp. We moved to Topsfield in 1996 from Byfield. I still get to Beverly ofter, my Mom still lives in the house we grew up in. My Dad passed away this past Christmas and I miss him very much. I had a big family 3 sisters and 3 of my brothers still live in Beverly and we get together often. My family is the best....my life has been very rewarding. I very rarely see anyone from school. I was quiet and not involved in sports etc. I have changed..It is amazing how we grow up and really find out who we are...If anyone remembers me send me a message I would love to hear from anyone.... Hi everyone! I've been living in Sanford Maine for the last 25 years. Got divorced in '85, and am currently engaged to a wonderful guy named Gary. I have two daughters, and between Gary and I we have 5 grandchildren who keep us very young. I've worked for Shaw's Supermarket for 16 years in the deli and seafood dept, and before that I worked for a corner store for 9 years. I get back to Beverly about once every couple months as all my family are still in and around the Beverly area. Sure has changed over the years. 4/04 -  Hello everyone. I am still living in Sanford, Maine and enjoying life. The grandchildren are getting older now, 9,7,6,4 and 3 1/2. All five will be camping with us in July for a week. One set of parents will be with us also, so we should make it through the week without collapsing. I am still working at Shaw's Supermarket, been 18 years now. Boy how time flies. This coming Sunday, May 2, will be a special day for me as a former classmate, Fay (Brotherton)Salt, is coming up to visit for the day. We haven't seen each other in 30 years but use to hang out during our BHS years. We are both excited about the reunion and have many things to catch up on. If it wasn't for this website, we probably would never have reconnected. This website was a great idea! Thanks. I hope everyone is healthy, happy and living a good life.

Just wondering if anyone knew when our next class reunion was going to take place !  Hard to believe sometimes that it has been so long since we graduated....but then, I look in the mirror and ask....."How the HELL" did this happen?"  Thank God for makeup, hair products and for the lucky ones.....plastic surgery.  But hey, they say getting old is just in our minds, right?  Who are "They", anyway?  My brother Clark passed away in 2005 from ALS and Lymme Disease, and lost my mom in 2006.....it makes you think and realize that life is short.  I have two beautiful and spunky girls, 23 and 24, a nurse and living in Manchester, NH.   Just wondering how you all are and would love to hear from you !  Take care !!  Kathy

Greetings, all!Stumbled onto this while surfing today. Had visited the Beverly site and the old alumni site a couple of years ago, and thought I'd check back. What an improvement! Are we really old enough to be facing our 30th reunion soon?! Yikes! I don't get to Beverly any more - my mother died in '98 and we sold her house, so there isn't much connection. Until "now" had lost touch with almost everyone I knew there.After BHS, I went to UNH, met an Air Force ROTC cadet, graduated in '77 with an environmental conservation degree, then became an Air Force wife. We have lived in Florida, California, Illinois, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Alabama, Virginia, Germany, Maryland, and now Washington state in the last 24 years. Phew! Along the way I changed my "career goals" to something employable. I now do software training for adults. I've worked at universities, government agencies, and military bases. My husband Kirk is due to retire from the Air Force next summer, if they will let people retire by then. We'll be moving to Centennial, Wyoming, a wide spot in the road 30 miles west of Laramie. We are childless by choice, so we plan to play! :-)With all this moving, I've only heard about one of our reunions. I sure would like to attend the 30th if we have one. I'll keep my e-mail address current here; I also registered at classmates.com. To those who might plan such a thing, please consider that the Thanksgiving weekend is the busiest travel weekend of the year, and unless you have someone to stay with that lives in the area, it's a tough time to travel to Beverly from out of town.With all that's happened recently, I've been nostalgic for New England. I miss Lynch Park, and the beaches. I'd love to hear from anyone who might remember me. I know I was pretty quiet - that's changed. Guess we all grew up, huh? Happy Holidays to all - and peace. . .

8/03 - Since I last posted on this site in late 2001, we've moved AGAIN, but this should be the last one!  My husband Kirk retired from the Air Force a year ago, and we moved into what we refer to as our "forever house", a log home in Centennial, Wyoming, population 100 (or so they like to tell the tourists).  I'm still working part time at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, doing software training for the faculty and staff.  I was hoping to hear about a 30th reunion, but so far no word.  Does anyone know anything about plans for one?  This site has been great for reconnecting with folks I haven't heard from in 30+ years.  Thanks!  Best to all of you, and I hope to see you someday, too.

Hello all, it's been a long time! I get back to Beverly whenever I can and occasionally see people I know....always happy to come home to Beverly, especially in Summer, to see my kids sitting on that big black rock in the water at Lynch the way my sister Dena and I did when we were kids! Anyway, what have I been doing? I graduated from music school, taught awhile, went to law school, became an attorney and worked awhile. I have been married to my husband, John Ricardo for 18 years, he is a physician here in Connecticut. We have two children, an 11 year old boy and a 8 year old girl who keep us running and I am the coordinator who (tries) to keep things running around here. We live in a lovely country setting, at the base of a waterfall. I'd love to hear from former classmates, just hooked back up with Angela Fortunato after all these years and I'm so thrilled! My best to everyone

11/04 - It was wonderful to see so many dear friends at the recent reunion.  I'm especially having a blast staying connected to my M-108 cronies via email.  My husband and I are now officially the parents of a teenager (son turned 13 this month), and he is taller than I am!  I suppose it can only go downhill from here.  Wishing all of you a peaceful, joyous and fulfilling holiday season. 

10/06  Time for an update!  I have reconnected with some BHS friends and hope to see more of them posting on this site in the future!  On a personal note, our son is now in high school (GASP!) and is a Third Former at Choate.  Daughter is in 6th grade, preserving the illusion of youth (for me).  I recently went back to the practice of law (Tom Barnico, I told you I would someday and now I have) and am really glad to be back!  All the best to everyone and I hope to see you when I am visiting my parents and siblings in Beverly.  Drop me a line any time.

10/09 Well, my husband and I finally have both of the kids in High School!  Andrew is a Sixth Former and Hayley is a Third Former (freshman) at Choate.  Andrew getting his college applications together -- aren't I too young to to be the mother of a college student?  I am with the State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch as a Mediator in its Foreclosure Mediation Program. My office is in New Haven Superior Court. My job is to mediate solutions between borrowers who are being sued in foreclosure and their lenders.  Needless to say, it's a very timely and busy position these days.  My very best to everyone.
