Sue and I moved to a waterfront townhouse in Salem over three years ago and love it there.  She retired and hopefully I won't be far behind.  We have three grandsons - ages 10,6 and 2 and they all live in North Beverly with our daughter and son-in-law.  Our son and daughter-in-law live in southern Virginia - no grandkids there just yet but we have hope.  We're both in good health and how important is that?  We play a lot of golf up at Wenham country Club and get some sailing in over the summer at Jubilee.  I see a lot of our classmates and look forward to the 40th reunion this summer.

07/02 - I am now vice president of media relations for JPMorgan in New York.  I recently remarried and we are expecting a child in October.   My son has transferred from Emerson to the State University of New York at Purchase. 

8/05:  It was great seeing so many classmates at the reunion and recounting old times.  As someone mentioned, I need to update my posting.  My wife, Beth, and I have a son, Noah, born in November 2002, so I have a toddler again.  He's great fun and a charmer.  My other son, Dan, 24, lives in Los Angeles, and hopes to manage alternative rock bands.  My stepdaughter Amanda, 29, lives in the Washington, DC area and just had a baby girl, Rebecca Mira, so I'm a granddad, too.  Best to all and look forward to the next reunion.

7/05 Married for third time (!) last year to a wonderful man I met when we went to high school in Puerto Rico before arriving at Beverly High for Senior Year. Although neither of us graduated from that school in Puerto Rico we just went to the 40th reunion there and I felt totally welcome by our buddies of several years. Don't have connections at Beverly High, but just thought I'd check in. My mother and brother still live in Gloucester, MA. I am living in Novato (Marin County) in Northern California near San Francisco, and we are in the process of buying a retirement home in Rincon Puerto Rico! Subsequently, Laughlin was hired as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of C-TEC Corporation (Wilkes-Barre, PA), a $240M publicly traded company in the telephony, cellular, CATV, radio paging, consulting and software services industries where he was responsible for an extensive and aggressive acquisitions strategy.

Laughlin joined old ITT friends, and new contacts in the investment community, in a management buyout effort of Alcatel Information Systems, Inc. (Tempe, AZ).  The $250M former ITT Corporation subsidiary was a supplier of IBM compatible computer peripherals and repair and maintenance services worldwide which Alcatel purchased in December 1986.  As Vice President/Chief Financial Officer, he also managed all accounting and finance operations worldwide, including audit, banking, cash management, supplier relationships, regulatory agencies, acquisitions and divestitures, financial negotiation and documentation, lease-base financing and export licensing.  He also provided all acquisition analysis and due diligence.  Laughlin co-led the MBO effort, raising $120M in debt and equity through private investors, Drexel Burnham and Continental Bank of Illinois to purchase the subsidiary, which was subsequently sold to a rival bidder. Laughlin s academic background includes a BS in Accounting from Bentley College (Waltham, MA) and graduate studies at the University of Nevada Reno and the Harvard Business School.

STERN-Susan Stern, 55, a resident of Corrales, and her husband, Dr. Peter Stern, died in their home, December 16, 2002. Susan and Peter lived in Corrales for over 30 years. They are survived by their twin daughters, Molly and Mandy Stern; and son-in-law, Jay Mandel. Dr. Stern was an accomplished orthopedic surgeon of more than 30 years standing and, more recently, had formed a consulting company to perform independent medical evaluations. Susan Stern, known professionally as Susan Glodt Stern shared her profound love and deep knowledge of writing with students who attended one of her writing seminars. She was extremely well read-knowledgeable not just about how to write solid fiction, but also about famous and influential works of literature. She was a prize-winning local journalist before pursuing a career in writing her own fiction and teaching others. Together, Susan and Peter shared a deep love for string instruments, and classical music. They befriended many professional musicians and artists from all over the world. They were devoted patrons of the New Mexico Symphony, the June Music Festival, and other local music and arts organizations. Peter enjoyed studying the violin and Susan, the viola. They were known for their weekend chamber music gatherings at their home. A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks N. of Paseo del Norte) with Rabbi Amy Sapowith, officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan Glodt Stern's name to the Southwest Writers Group, 8200 Mountain Rd. We all try to get to NH every summer for a month and to check on my aunts and see family and friends on the North Shore. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces at the reunion in 2000, although it seems a lifetime ago...pre 9/11, doesn't it? I taught at the Washington School in Beverly before marrying Brad (BHS Class of '62). We will celebrate 31 happy years together in November. In 1972, we moved to Atlanta. Brad works as an auditor for Delta Air Lines, and I am a second grade teacher at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Atlanta. We are the proud parents of two married sons, Chris(29) and Jeff(28), a daughter, Laura(25), who is engaged to be married on June 2,2001, and a son, Andrew(14), who is a student at St. Pius X High School. We are living in Tucker, GA, just outside of Atlanta. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first grandchild. I'm sorry we couldn't make it to the 35th Reunion, but hopefully, we will see everyone at the 40th.

My husband retired from Delta Air Lines in December of '01.  We are now the grandparents of two precious little girls, Lindsay (2) and Caitlin (2 months).  Just an update to our family tree.  Granddaughter #3,Annalise Elizabeth O'Connell, was born on Oct. 13.  She is the first child born to our daughter, Laura, and her husband, Ricky.  Brad and I are thrilled!

Have 3 beautiful grandaughters ages 7,4 and 2. My 2 yr old is a brain damaged baby who suffered a stroke before birth, she is healthy and beautiful to us. Would love hearing from any of you.

She died on Oct, 29, 2000 in Austin, Tx., her home for the past 20 years. She leaves behind a loving husband, Alan Dawkins, Mother Harriet and a sister Polly. I am now the Coordinator of EMT & Paramedic Training at Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, NV. Also EMS Captain on the Dayton (Nevada) Vol. Fire Department. It's a small town just East of Carson City on Highway 50 (near Virginia City - yes that old town from Bonanza really exists, but with electricity now!). In addition to running the Rescue truck, I'm usually the engineer for our primary pumper (fire truck) and a wildland firefighter (scary thought, huh? at this age!) You may have seen that we've had over a million acres burn in wildfires this year alone! Also proud to be a member of the 1998 Nevada State Firefighters Association Waterfight Championship team! Living on the Ponderosa suits me well! Very happy, reasonably healthy and dating a neat guy! Keep in touch and let me know if you come to the Reno-Tahoe area.

3/06 - since my last entry, I have become a widow.  After 33 years of marriage, my husband died suddenly in November of 2001.  On a happier note, I have become a grandmother again to a wonderful little girl.  That makes me a grandmother of 6 girls.  My oldest daughter Julie and her husband Glenn have 2 sets of twins. Meghan and Lyndsey are almost 12, and Emily and Allyson are 7.  Jacki, my youngest daughter and her husband Ray have 7 year old Courtney, and our newest, Taylor age 1 (looks just like her grandfather) and is a blessing to me.  Missed the 40th, haven't been to a reunion yet but always say I am going to go....still living in Beverly....sewing, interior painting, specializing in faux finishes. 8/05 - Just a footnote after the 40th reunion....  they did have BIG letters on the name tags!  Grand to see so many on August 6th - the reunion committee did a fabulous job.  This was my first attendance at a reunion, but (God willing) it won't be my last. If anyone ventures west to the wilds of Winchendon located in North Central Massachusetts, stop by for a visit!

Having lived in Topsfield, MA for 20+ years I up and moved to Amesbury and have been here for 7.  I work for a Food Broker in Billerica and travel throughout New England, which is great because my home is my office..... I get to work (on occasion) without having to get dressed and out of the house in the AM.  I love traveling and try to get away whenever I can, particularly to Europe as I love the cities, art, and history.... History?  Now that's a shocker, especially to my former teachers.

I have two sons (Tim-36 and Ben-32) - dam, am I that old? - who BOTH packed their bags and moved to Colorado within a year of each other.  They have a very successful business designing and inlaying hardwood floors, so I told them that I was going to move out there and let them support me..... funny, but I haven't heard from them in a while.... and why are their phone #'s unlisted?  Hmmmm, better think about this one.

Hope to see everyone at the 40th, and would love to hear from anyone.

Also, if anyone missed the 40th (which was last night-Aug 6th), you missed a good one....... by far THE best!  And you definitely missed Linda "Tina Turner" Costley.

There were quite a few people who attended for the first time and it was great to see everyone.

12/07 - Moved out of Amesbury and bought a little place in Seabrook, NH, 2 1/2 years ago, just two miles from Karen McNamara, so, naturally, we get together often.... almost like it was in HS.  Kids are still in Colorado and I'm not... but my plans are to move out there.  Maybe soon.
