After graduating from Endicott I married Bob Reever, class of '60.  I can't believe that we just celebrated our 40th.  We lived in Ipswich for 5 years and moved to Westford in '70.  I was a stay at home mom until the kids got older then worked for a dentist and finally for a family doctor.  I loved it a lot but have been home for the last 10 years to be with my husband who suffers the ravages of kidney disease and is on dialysis.  We have 2 children-daughter Robin, who has blessed us with a granddaughter, Kristin (8) and a grandson, Kevin (3).  They live in Chelmsford so we are lucky to see them often and do the
"Nana and Grampy" bit.  Our son, Derek, lives outside Atlanta and is married to a wonderful
"Georgia Peach."  Wish they were closer.  I wonder if anyone knows the whereabouts of Kathy Burr Johnsen from our class.  She was from Wenham, like me, and, somehow, several years ago I lost track of her. I'd really love to get in touch with her.

Hi gang! This is a great idea! I've been to most of the class reunions
and always missed people who never showed up. It has been like they
just vanished into thin air. I hope to here from some of them.
I'm living in New Hampshire, we moved here after a short career in
North Carolina, in 1982. I've had a busy 40 years involving 8 kids,
2 grandkids, and a 3rd on the way. I'm a welder like my father before
me. Drop me a line, love to hear from you. Dick

I moved from Beverly in 1959 to Salem, NH, so I only attended Briscoe Jr. High and finished high school in Salem. I have been married for 35 years this March to a wonderful guy named Stan. We have two children, Jill who is 34 and Christopher who is 29. I have wondered for years what happend to some of my old friends. Some of them were Judy Normand, Suey Nyland, Carol Papa, Candy Quint, and Pauline Geary. My clearest memories was of Pauline, Candy and myself walking to Billy Carr's house looking for him, Barry and Larry and Pete. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me or someone who can tell me what happened to some of my friends.

If anyone remembers me at all, it will be as the skinny, dark-haired guy with one eyebrow, which was edited out of my senior picture and which I am still not happy about.

However, in the event anyone wants to know, here is synopsis of my life since B.H.S. After two years at UNH, my family moved to the Lexington, KY area because of corporate transfer.   I Finished my A.B. at UK, met and married a great gal (Becky)from Northern KK, settled there as a high school English teacher.  Two years later, 1970, we moved across the Ohio River to Cincinnati where we have lived since.  I finished my career as a teacher with twenty-nine years at Reading High School in suburban Cincinnati, retiring in 1996.  My wife still is working as agroup manager for IRS Customer Service (which division some would call a contradiction in terms).

Along the way, we had three children: twin girls, Jane and Ellie, born in 1967, and a boy, Daniel, born in 1968.  Once we found out what was causing the alarming frequency of births, we figured out how to stop.  My daughter Ellie is the mother of three children, our terrific grandkids Paul, Kate and Becky.  Unfortunately, for my wife and me, the kiddies live in Tulsa, OK, so our contact is not as frequent as we would like.

I spend my time following intellectual pursuits such as reading, writing, and live theater.  I, also, do housework, golf, jog. and stare off into space.

I would love to hear from anyone.

Hello to all
I have been married to Mary Ellen Sullivan, class of 65, for 38 years.  We have two children, Cynthis and Deborah, and four grandchildren ages five to ten.  They all reside in Beverly.  I worked in the electrical industry from 1964 to retirement in 2005.  During that time I taught in the Malden school system for 30 years.  We also owned and operated a small electrical contracting business in the Beverly area.  When we retired we moved to
Bartlett Nh, right in the heart of the ski area.  We enjoy the winter sports and it gives us a chance to enjoy the kids on the slopes.  Living in the mountains allows our family to enjoy the type of outdoor activities that are not available in Beverly.
Good luck to everyone.

Hello to any classmates who will receive this message.
I have recently moved back to Beverly after living in Rowley for twenty four years, and am happy to be back. Beverly is still the city it was thirty three years ago when we graduated, but as we slowly grow older and don't see ourselves change, so does the city seemingly go without change. There are new schools, a new addition to the library, Hardie School and the old Briscoe J H S are no longer. What we think of as B H S is now called Briscoe J H S, and we have a new Memorial Bridge between Beverly and Salem. There are new streets, houses and developments popping up everywhere as the city grows. I attended my first reunion, our thirty fifth in '97, and enjoyed it immensely. I'm looking forward to the fortieth in 2002, maybe I'll see you there. I hope a lot of Beverly classmates find this great site and use it to find old friends.Glenn Gray

Hi,
When I came back to Wenham to attend a memorial service for my mother, I ran into Mary Kavanaugh Tersolo. Seeing her after so many years prompted me to reopen my yearbook, which I had not revisited for decades. I was startled by a remarkable phenomenon: the faces of those in my 1959-62 class looked as recognizable as those of my family, yet I felt as though I were looking at the photographs of celebrities, seen over and over in the mind's eye, but personally unfamiliar.
I will be returning to the Boston area for the birth of my first grandchild. I would like to rendezvous with some fellow alumni, so I hope many of you will also be attending the 40th reunion.

We have 2 married sons, a daughter who is engaged to be married in June, and a 15 year old son.We are the proud grandparents of Lindsay who was born September 12, 2000

We still miss the ocean and the great New England food!!

12/04 - Just a note to make a change in our e-mail address, as well as to share the good news of a new addition to our family tree.  Our daughter, Laura, and her husband, Ricky, blessed us with a new grandchild, Annalise Elizabeth, on Oct. 13.  This is their first child, and our 3rd granddaughter.  We are thrilled!

We have three sons, Mark 33, Robyn 22, and Rory 16. We have resided in Essex for the past 15 years and it is a lot like Maine except you can get there from here!!!I'll write what comes to mind here and wouldn't you know it it is all coming to me in reverse order. We lived in Dexter Maine for a while and loved it up they' ya but there just wasn't enough work as full time performing musicians to survive,so we sold the house we built ourselves on 30 acres of beautiful land and came back to culture shock in Massachusetts. Before we moved to Maine we lived on a hand built houseboat in the Beverly Harbor Marina.I graduated from Northeastern University in 1970. It would have been a bit earlier but my Army Reserve Unit was called to active duty in 1968 and I lost two years, but did manage to stay alive while in the Army in a very chaotic time. Over the years I have had many varied jobs including teaching in high school, coaching track, carpentry, selling BMWs, etc. etc. I even coache!
d Beverly HS indoor and outdoor track for one year in 1996 while I worked on my Masters in Elementary Education. I received my Masters from Cambridge College and I think I'll wait a bit before I go back to school.( Like a big bit!) I currently work at an engineering firm in Danvers and my wife Fran (God bless her) is teaching elementary music in Rockport. I have had some extraordinary success competing in Masters Track (over 40 years old) over the past 17 years including setting five World Records and winning three Gold Medals at World Championships. The latest Gold Medals were won in 2001 in Australia in the 400m and the 4 x 100 relay. It was particularly satisfying to me because I was born in Australia and had not been back in 54 years.

After BHS, college (Williams) & grad school (UNH), I entered the "real" world in 1969 by taking a position with a chemicals company in Delaware. Since then, I've lived in West Virginia, Missouri and 4 places in Wisconsin. In my working life, I am a technology guru in the incredibly narrow field of liquid-solid separation chemicals. The areas in which I ply this trade are things as diverse as removing solids from water used to make clean sand, separating cells and cell debris from fermentation broths in biotech manufacturing industries like pharmaceuticals and enzymes, and the really mundane clarification of municipal sewage.

Anna (a "Michigander") and I got married in '72. Our kids are Jessica ('76) and David ('80).

Attached is a pic of me and my wife, Anna, during a trip to S.E. Asia in April, 2002. This shot was taken in a small city in northern Myanmar (formerly Burma) near the Thailand and Laos borders.

Anna & I currently live near Milwaukee. We enjoy international travel, good food & theater. Anna swims for her exercise; when I'm not away on business, I ride a bicycle to work up a sweat.

10/03 - While it has been 36 years since I lived in Beverly, I indeed return from time to time.  When we don't update with the cast of characters who formed that era with us, we often image what and who was back then.  True for me when I walk Bridge Street, Cabot street or sit on a bench at Dane Street Beach.

If you were in my life back then, I see you as you were, forever youthful.  While I fully realize our bodies are well into middle age, I wish you youthfullness in spirit and energy.

I remain in private practice as a professional counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and consultant.  I love what I do and the individuals, couples, families and organizations with whom and which I work.

I love living in the South and am forever grateful I lived in Beverly for 22 years.

Original Entry:

As Rial Side buddies since the 6th grade, we played in the ebb and flow of the Danvers River at Obear Park and then as teenagers, enjoyed the ocean beyond in a small boat.   He stayed, seasonally navigating the waters off Cape Ann in progressively bigger boats.  I left, experiencing waters, currents and challenges on three continents.

Long ago we passed each other in the corridors of Memorial, BHS and later, Salem State. Afterwards, he stayed to pursue a life-long career in pharmaceutical sales.  I left to find myself and my place in a world far beyond Beverly.

He, with wife and sons, soon purchased a home 2 miles from where we both grew up.  I, with my first wife, purchased a home on Kodiak Island in Alaska.  He remains in that same house with the same wife, having raised their two sons.  I, on the other hand, have long since left Kodiak, my former wife and now, after many residences and cultures, have found my home with a Georgia peach in Atlanta.

This past summer, he who stayed and he who left, together with their wives, enjoyed themselves on a Maine island far more hospitable than Kodiak!  Together they reveled in those qualities which first brought them together long ago – a love of the ocean, gentleness, laughter, unpretentiousness, reflection, compassion and a genuine caring of others and yes…each other.

He, who stayed, has never once made the one who left, wrong for leaving.  He, who left, has never once judged the one who stayed as foolish for staying.  Both have found sustenance and meaning in the 46-year friendship.

Time with Ray Tilton (and two other classmates) was my reunion in the summer of ’02 with the spirit of BHS-1962 ever present, and oh my, what class.

My daughter Stephanie is 22 and a senior at Syracuse University. As for myself, I have been working in the information technology area for the last 25 years and am currently employed by IBM Global Services. My job has me traveling to customer sites 100% of the time trying to rescue troubled projects. They say I am a trouble project manager but sometimes I think I am a troubled project manager.

Brian Shea died March 26, 2005 seven long years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Condolences in the form of fond memories would be appreciated. Kindly send to his wife, Pat, at 2292 Smokehouse Path, Lawrenceville, GA 30044

Original Message from Tim Schnabel follows:

Brian has lived in the greater Atlanta area since 1969.  He met a lovely Southerner a few years later and they married in 1974.  Brian and Pat have four children, a son and three daughters.  The youngest is a senior in high school.   Brian also has something else, Alzheimer’s.  He was diagnosed five years ago and the journey has been both painful as well as an act of love and courage for his family and church.

While he can no longer read, he enjoys receiving mail which Pat reads to him and he would most welcome a note from those of you who enjoyed his friendship back then.  While he no longer plays golf or tennis or football, he knows that he once did.  While Brian may be a northern transplant, there is a large part of his heart firmly connected to Beverly.  A short note or card would do wonders for this good man.

Some nine years ago, I discovered that Brian lived just 8 miles away!  We reconnected and as part of spending time together, he would occasionally fly with me (private pilot).   He was a delighful co-pilot.  As his disease progressed, he became more frightened.  After 9/11 he told me he would never fly again, so returning to Beverly will be difficult.

His address is: 2292 Smokehouse Path, Lawrenceville, GA 30044.

If you have any questions, drop me a note at tim.schnabel@mindspring.com

I've been retired since June 2003 and loving every minute of it even though I really liked teaching. Playing lots of golf (trying to get the handicap down) and catching up with all my reading - so many books, so little time. Missed the 40th reunion, but hope to catch the next one in '07 or '12.

7/06 - Been retired since 2003 after 36 years as HS math teacher and administrator. Spend the winters in Bonita Springs, FL and summers on the lake in Winchendon, MA. Been married for 33 years, but no kids.

Hope to see lots of you at the next reunion. If you know the whereabouts of homeroom classmates - Stortstrom, Stearns, etc. - let me know. Thanks.

Have lived in Newburyport, MA for the last 33 years and married a wonderful man from here in 1988. I was a Flight Attendant for 37 years for Northeast/Delta based in Boston.  I enjoyed my flying career very much.  I retired in January, 2002.  After 9/11, it was not fun anymore. Now both husband and I are retired and enjoying every minute of it.  Life is Good!!

I have enjoyed hearing from many of my former classmates, thanks to this wonderful site. I have three awesome children from my first marriage, Jeff, Stephanie, and Kerry Litka and two beautiful grandchildren. After living in Topsfield for 17 years, I remarried in 1985 and moved to the beautiful Lakes Region of NH where I live in a log home that my husband and I built ourselves, teach elementary school, and spend my spare time quilting and working in my perennial garden. Would love to hear from any former Hardie School kids. What wonderful, carefree years those were!

8/02  --  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the 40th reunion in Oct.

5/07 -  left NH for Edgewood New Mexico.  Retired from teaching in 2005, but returned in 2006 to teach in ABQ.  just not ready yet to retire and  I love what I do.
Enjoying the beautiful wide open spaces, blue skies and sunsets of the southwest.

I married in 1969 and have a son Robert who is 31.  He is the father of my only grandson.  My grandson turned 10 this year.  I also have a daughter, who is married, and living in N.H..  She just turned 30.  She owns her own business, as well as, breeding yellow labs, showing them and training them.  I lost my husband in 1997 to cancer. I am at home now doing what I love the best, enjoying my grandson.

4/03 -  I just finished going through the list of names and was thrilled at how many of them I remembered.  Still in Beverly.  Am missing my 12 year old grandson.  He and his mother and step-father have just moved to Ct.  I only get to see him once a month now.  Presently, I am helping a friend, who has had some medical issues, with her daughter.  Would love to hear from you. The very best to you all.

Hi, I have lived in Beverly my entire life and now own the house I grew up in. I have 3 grown daughters and 5 grandchildren. I own CAS Bookkeeping Services, which I started 4 years ago after the company that I worked for went out of business. My husband and I spend a lot of time at our condo on Lake Winnipesaukee and enjoy spending time with our grandchildren. Hope to hear from some of my old classmates.

I am grateful for this opportunity to connect to Beverly at this time.  I have just brought my 87 year old mother back to Oregon to stay with us, she was almost my last link to what is occurring in Beverly these days.  Janice (63)and Ron Dallas (62) forwarded me this site, and amazingly we are still friends thru all these years.  My only daughter, Crystal, just graduated college in San Francisco, and bought herself a lovely home in Clearlake CA. I still do much art work after graduating from RISD.  Have a book published by Blue Dolphin Publishing entitled the Hawaiian Aumakua Cards and Text.   Am happily married, and enjoy working in our garden and meditating a lot. We have a lovely home here in Ashland Oregon, home of the Shakespear Festival, and if any old friends are in the area, do hope they will give a call and drop by.  Remember to be good to yourselves, and I send everyone good wishes for peace, love, joy and bliss.   Blessed Be.
