  I live in upstairs in my mother's house on Lothrop Street where she is still active although ninety-three years old and blind.  Nothing stops her from winning her bridge games. 
  Upstairs we are me, my daughter, and my two grandsons, ages ten and twelve.   My son is married to a book distributer.  He is writing.  You may hear his commentaries on public radio from time to time.  I am trying to publish children's books about when Mommy goes to the hospital and does not come home with a new baby, because she is ill. Anyone connected to a children's book publisher?

between the 3 we have 7 grandchildren of
which 2 just turned 18.  I retired from the
Navy in 1980 as Senior Chief having completede 22 years of service (I'M a vietnam vet having served inthe riverrine force (brown water navy-river rats) 1968/69. Completed 22 years civil service and retired  as Personnel Officer at the Submarine base in New London in 2006.  Presently I'm
involved with the disabled american veterans ensuring that they get the benefits they deserve.  I have not been back to Beverly in years, 2 many bad memories with family (all deceased). Would like to hear from classmates if interested especially those who were with me since the first grade (georgie, pat, virginia etc).

1/08 - In the memorial section of the website it reflects that Michael Tomeo was probably 
a 1958 grad.  Mike graduated with the class of 1959.  In my yearbook we lost two classmates, on page 122 in memoriam reflects Patricia Iovanna and David Nelson.  If I counted correctly, there were 338 graduates in 1959.

Keep up the great work your doing maintaining
the website.  It is a valuable tool for us who are middle age and moving backwards.

2002 update.....has anyone seen the Class of "60 website?  It is great!  Is there anyone here or in our class who might be as talented tech-wise as B. Nisbet?  We should get one of these sites going. I live in Chicago, am married, and have a son, two daughters, and two granddaughters.  Offically, I have retired from the University of Illinois but have returned to teach there under a separate contract. I travel to Beverly several times a years, as I still have family there. It would be terrific hearing from former classmates.

For the last 18 years I have been working in the environmental lab for the state of Vermont. I have just finished developing the analytical end of an air monitoring program for our state. Next week I get to retire and spend time with my 2 sets of grandkids. My son David lives in Maryland and has 2 boys and my daughter Debbie has one of each in Texas. I plan to travel, do crafts and non science activities for awhile. 
   I just bought a lovely home with land on a hill top with mountain views. Before that my husband and I worked a farm with 52 acres of land to worry about. We raised bees, did maple syrup, gardens, made wine from our own grapes and built a barn and some cross country ski trails. We also raised pigs and sheep-all this with 2 full time jobs and kids.
  I am single now and very much enjoying myself. Now I just stick to flowers instead of a large garden. In Vermont our growing season is about 2 weeks but I try anyway.

Still at the U. of Iowa after 32 years, still married to Kris who'll start reducing her psychology practice in January. I just took chairing our dept. of cinema and comparative literature for a couple of years, so she'll have a year or two of full retirement before I give it a try.Don't get back to Beverly much, don't hear much from '59 colleagues. But then how hard have I tried? 'twould be good to hear a word or two.

9/12/03:  Kris and I both retired in late spring/early summer   2003, to continue (for a while at least) living in Iowa City, having had enough of private-practice clinical psychology in her case and teaching literature/interdisciplinary studies at the U. of Iowa in mine.   We get to a little house inherited from godparents in Chatham on occasion--but can I really transfer allegiance from the North Shore to that other Cape? question to be explored further.  One of these years would like to get to a reunion event to renew acquaintances, and the more so for interesting postings from so many.  Meanwhile happy to hear from old friends.

Living down here in Sunny Florida (New Port Richey, no snow!) with wife Judy. Now have 5 Grandkids, all living "Up North" in Danvers, Salem, etc. Still working, but having fun, enjoying the sun, and being involved with the local Audubon Society and invironmental organizations. Presently working on a study of Black Rails, a rare marsh bird, determining their nesting status at a local State preserve. And looking for a good band to play bass in. Despite living in Florida I'm still an avid Redsox and Patriots fan, hoping the Pats can "three-peat". Dynasty?

9/05 - I'm still here at good old BHS in the Main Office.  I guess this makes about 26 years. Never a dull moment!!  My husband Herb and I have been married 45 years this October (2005) and we are celebrating by taking a Mediterranean cruise the first two weeks of Oct.  We have four grandchildren (oldest daughter, Robin has twin girls, 4 1/2 years old) and Jenn has two boys, 8 and 3 1/2.  Would love to hear from anyone in class of '59 (the best damn class that ever came out of this place!)
